Smithtown Friends of Music (SFOM), founded in 1995 and incorporated in 1996, is a parent-driven, community-based organization that:
- Advocates for the music education experience of all Smithtown Central School District students
- Aims to create a high quality cultural climate for the Smithtown community
- Recognizes and honors students of the Smithtown Central School District Music Department
Their mission: "To provide financial and emotional support to children & families within our Smithtown community by bridging family, friends, neighbors & local business to act as ONE in times of crisis"
